Mobility Package I is a 2020 set of EU laws for road freight transport. It reformed driving and rest times, cabotage, market access and the posting of drivers.
Key rules: cabotage 3 operations in 7 days plus a 4-day cooling-off period; vehicle return to the operating centre every 8 weeks; driver return every 4 weeks; no regular weekly rest in the cab.
Vans: since 21 May 2022, companies using vehicles of 2.5 to 3.5 t for hire-and-reward international transport need a Community licence.
