The Community licence is the EU-wide authorisation for hire-and-reward cross-border road haulage within the EU. It is issued in the company's country of establishment; a certified copy must be carried in every vehicle.
Vans: since 21 May 2022, companies running vehicles of 2.5 to 3.5 t for hire and reward internationally also need a Community licence.
Requirements: establishment, good repute, financial standing and professional competence (transport manager).
Legal basis: Regulation (EC) 1072/2009 as amended by the Mobility Package.
