The Euro emission standard sets pollutant limits for vehicles; for trucks the stages are written in Roman numerals (Euro V, Euro VI). In many countries it determines the toll rate.
Tolls: in Germany and Austria the toll rate depends, among other things, on the emission class – older vehicles pay more.
