Freight costs are all costs incurred to move a shipment from sender to consignee. For the carrier they consist of fuel, AdBlue, tolls, driver, vehicle and overhead costs; for the customer it is the agreed freight rate.
Components: variable costs (fuel, AdBlue, tolls, tyres, wear) and fixed costs (driver pay, depreciation, insurance, vehicle tax, admin).
