EETS (European Electronic Toll Service) lets road users pay tolls in all EU electronic toll systems with a single contract with one EETS provider and a single on-board unit (toll box).
Legal basis: Directive (EU) 2019/520 on the interoperability of electronic road toll systems.
Benefit: one box for many countries instead of several national devices (e.g. Toll Collect, GO-Box), billed through one provider.
Costs: providers charge device or service fees – these can be included in costing as additional costs.
