Dangerous goods are substances and articles that can pose risks to people, the environment or property during transport. For road transport, the UN agreement ADR governs packaging, marking, vehicle equipment and driver training.
ADR: Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road (UNECE); updated every two years, currently ADR 2025.
Obligations: orange plates, transport document, instructions in writing, equipment and the driver's ADR training certificate.
Costs: dangerous goods transport costs more – training, equipment, route restrictions (e.g. tunnels) and higher insurance. These extras can be entered in Logist Calculator.
